Michele Jaquis, Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator

Jaquis is an interdisciplinary artist and educator who has been teaching in various departments at Otis since fall 2000. She has also taught a wide range of courses at UC Riverside, CSULB, RISD, 1st Street Gallery Art Center, and Long Lane School (now called CT Juvenile Training School). In 1999, Jaquis co-founded, with her partner, Jeremy Quinn, Rise Industries - Interdisciplinary Projects, a loose collaborative group of artists, designers and musicians. Her work has been exhibited across the country and she is represented by McLean Fine Art. In addition to her studio practice, she is also a videographer and editor for the Center for Autism and Related Disorders, where she directed and edited the documentary RECOVERED Journeys Through the Autism Spectrum and Back. Jaquis holds a BFA in sculpture/ experimental studio and a minor in psychology from Hartford Art School/University of Hartford and an MFA in sculpture from RISD.
