Candida Ayala received her Bachelor’s degree from Otis College of Art and Design with an emphasis in painting. Using glitter and other craft materials, she focused her painting studies on the bus-riding community she grew up in. Ayala’s photography work explores the urban areas, specifically Downtown Los Angeles where she lives. She loves to take photographs of everyday life in her neighborhood and the curiosities that she encounters in the streets that many people never notice. Currently Ayala teaches art at New Academy of Science and Art, a local elementary school in her neighborhood.
