Jules is one of the Founders and former Artistic Producer of Miscellaneous Productions; based in Vancouver BC Canada, this non profit organization pioneers new frontiers in performance, art and new media while merging them with community development and popular culture.
Jules has worked as an artist, producer of festivals, and an arts manager/ coordinator. Her passions include community building, the arts, media activism, social justice, as well as creating access and diverse programming in the arts.
One of my creative goals is to create dialogue and exchange. To create social space and to engage people in conversation. How would the stories people share about their experiences relate back to the landscape, geography and social reality, day-to-day life, and to an individuals sense of memory and belonging.
My idea for the StoryCycle is to create a mobile table and chairs. By mobile I mean something I can ride around with on a bicycle and set-up at varied locations around the city.
There are of few locations of Los Angeles that I am interested in. I call these locations sites. The sites I am fascinated by are; Hollywood Blvd, Alvarado @ Wilshire, Venice Beach, and Public Transit stops.
How would the stories people share about their experiences relate back to the landscape, geography and social reality, day-to-day life, and to an individuals sense of memory and belonging.
Jules has been loving Los Angeles!
