John Quigley is an internationally known Artist and Environmental Activist. As creator of Spectral Q Aerial Art and Founder of Spectral Q Productions, his unique mix of human art installation and aerial photography brings together communities to create large-scale messages for the common good. Focusing on themes of human rights, social justice, ecological balance, democracy, and freedom, his work strives to liberate the spirit and inspire unity through creative participation.
John has created close to 100 Human Aerial Art images involving nearly 100,000 people in locations ranging from the Amazon Rainforest, Antarctica, London, Geneva, Copenhagen, Ireland, Mexico, Australia, Java, Bali, Alaska, Victoria, Toronto, Vancouver, the Arctic, the United Nations in New York, Los Angeles, and cities across the United States.
In 2007 his work in the Amazon was featured on the Live Earth Global Broadcast as part of a short film narrated by Martin Sheen and his Arctic Warning was seen in Leonardo DiCaprio’s feature length documentary The 11th Hour. His work is featured is several books including Sebastian Copeland’s award winning book Antarctica-The Global Warning. His Human Whale SOS’ project was recently chosen as Coastal Living Magazine’s 2008 Sea & Shore award winner.
He has worked with virtually every major environmental organization in the US, including serving on the national and international boards for Earth Day. John continues to serve as Executive Director of Earth Day Los Angeles.
